Information
Rebecca Palmer is a native Californian and a longtime resident of the San Francisco Bay area. After receiving an undergraduate degree in English at Stanford University, she was introduced to photography at Foothill College. Subsequently she earned a MFA from San Jose State University. She has exhibited work in California and in national and international exhibitions. Her work is included in both private and public collections. She has also written about photography for Artweek, Photo Metro and (detail) magazines.
She
has been especially interested in the expressive possibilities of the
black and white medium. She began to explore silver processes in the
1980s; she is currently learning about digital processes. A
recurring theme in her various portfolios is an affirmation of human
connection to the natural world.
